The Hallows Gallery is based on the lively and bohemian Ormeau Road, just a few minutes’ drive from the City Centre. Located in the ground floor of a beautiful old red brick building, The Hallows is a short walk from Ormeau Park and plenty of cafes and eateries. The Hallows has three separate viewing rooms, The Sean Nichol Room, Gallery One and The Long Gallery. As proud members of the Fine Art Trade Guild, we also offer bespoke framing services from our in house Guild Certified Framer, Dylan Banks.
You can find out more about each space below.
The Seán Nichol Room
Belfast born artist, Seán Nichol, was the inspiration behind the Hallows Gallery. His family set up the gallery to show case his work and to share his passion and skill with others. The Seán Nichol room remains dedicated to sharing and promoting his work. Seán’s work encapsulates a tangible love for the wild rugged landscape of the West Coast of Ireland and the Antrim Coast line. You will find work from the 1940’s right up the early 1990’s in this room and can see his evolving style and exploration of different mediums and subject matter.
Here, you will find artwork from Ulster artists who share Seán’s love of the Ulster landscape, in particular, Maurice C Wilkes and Charles McAuley. You will also find the work of more contemporary artists such as Paul Walls and Deborah Campbell in this space. And don’t forget our range of bronze work by sculptor, Freda Gilmore.
The Long Gallery
The Long Gallery is where you will find our more abstract and contemporary pieces, featuring artwork by Paul Doran, Alan Graham, Ciarán Lennon, and Gerard Maguire.
