The Hallows x

The Hallows Gallery is based on the lively bohemian Ormeau Road, South Belfast. Here at the Hallows, we’re passionate about supporting and promoting local Irish art and making sure that all our visitors get a warm welcome and an experience to remember.

At the Hallows, you will find a diverse selection of both traditional and contemporary original Irish art. We are also delighted to offer a small selection of Award Winning Limited-Edition Photography and Prints.

The Gallery was first set up by Dylan and Meabh Banks in October 2016 to celebrate and showcase the work of Meabh’s great uncle, the artist Seán Nichol (1920-2005).
The Gallery has continued to evolve and while still chief advocates of the work of Seán Nichol, also offers a select range of both established and emerging local artists. The Hallows hosts regular group and solo exhibitions throughout the year. And as proud members of the Fine Art Trade Guild, The Hallows also offers bespoke framing services from its in-house Guild Certified Framer.

Despite being a relatively young business, the Hallows Gallery has an exceptional reputation for its bespoke framing. This is largely due to our ongoing commitment to excellence – we want every customer to leave feeling 100% satisfied with their new frame. You can read what some of our recent customers had to say about us here

We are committed to promoting original Irish art, with a particular focus on Ulster art, from both established and emerging artists from across Ireland.
We want to create a friendly and welcoming environment where people can pop in and enjoy the Gallery space in a relaxed atmosphere.
We want our customers to get a beautiful piece of original art that they can treasure for years to come. But we don't think they should have to pay over the odds for that, so we price our art work fairly.
We are proud members of the Fine Art Trade Guild, and along with our very own Guild Certified Framer, we are dedicated to delivering the finest quality of framing at a fair price.

As the inspiration behind The Hallows Gallery, Seán Nichol’s work remains very much in focus. Seán was devoted to the wild and rugged landscape of the West and North Coasts of Ireland. So, alongside his work, you will also find work of other Irish Artists who share the same passion and affinity with the Irish Wilderness.

This bright space lends itself to showcasing some of our more contemporary Irish Artists. The artwork in this Gallery celebrates the extraordinary and bold use of colour. At present, artists include Alan Graham, Neil Shawcross and Ciaran Lennon to name a few. You will also find Award Winning Limited-Edition Photography from Fergus Noone, Aaron Dickson and Frankie Quinn alongside our new Barbara Allen ARUA collection.

The Long Gallery is our Exhibition Space where we host most of our solo and group shows. But you will also find more of our larger abstract and contemporary pieces here throughout the year. Featuring artwork by artist in residence Paul Doran and other local artists including Paul Walls, David Magowan, Gerard Maguire, Dennis Kelly and Desmond Monroe. We also have a small selection of bronze work by Freda Gilmore on display.
